Who I Am

Sheila Ray Montgomery is the author of The Feral Butterfly (2025) and Doryto and the Door of Wanderers (Coming in 2026), stories rooted in the space between who we are, where we come from, and what we survive. Her work explores family, loyalty, identity, and the quiet truths that shape us long before we name them. Writing character‑driven fiction that blends mystery, emotional depth, and moments of reflection, Sheila believes stories matter most when they recognize something familiar in the reader.

As a public speaker, Sheila brings real life said out loud to book clubs, libraries, community groups, and nonprofit events—creating space for connection rather than answers. She is also the founder of The Alabama Pet Pantry, a nonprofit dedicated to helping families keep their pets fed during times of hardship.
